How much do self-employed workers pay in contributions in 2026?

Self-employed workers (autónomos) pay Social Security on their net income: each person falls into one of the 15 brackets of the Social Security table and chooses a contribution base between the minimum and maximum of that bracket. The monthly contribution is that base times the 31.5% rate (common contingencies 28.30%, occupational 1.30%, cessation of activity 0.90%, vocational training 0.10% and Intergenerational Equity Mechanism 0.90%). On the table's minimum bases, the contribution ranges from €205.88 to €607.35 per month.

How is the autónomo contribution calculated?

Monthly contribution = contribution base × 31.5% ÷ 100. For example, with €1,500 of net income per month you are in bracket 2 of the general table (bases from €960.78 to €1,500): on the minimum base you pay €302.65 a month and on the maximum, €472.50.

How do I know my net income?

It is your income minus deductible expenses, divided by 12 if you calculate it per year. Social Security applies its own rules to work it out; if you are near the limit of a bracket, confirm it with your advisor. You can adjust your base during the year according to your real income.

What if I am just starting or have a discount?

This calculator does not include the flat-rate scheme or other discounts or reductions. Check their current situation on the Social Security website.

From the contribution to your taxes

The contribution is a deductible expense of your activity. FlexiFlow takes it into account when it prepares the indicative modelo 130 draft from your invoices and expenses.

Worked example: €1,500 of net income per month

Bracket 2 of the general table (over €1,300 up to €1,500), with bases from €960.78 to €1,500.00. On the minimum: 960.78 × 31.5% = €302.65 per month (€3,631.80 per year). On the maximum: 1,500 × 31.5% = €472.50 per month.
