Verifactu is the system under which invoicing software records every invoice in a chained way and can send it to the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT). The aim is that an invoice can't be deleted or changed without leaving a trace.
What changes for you
- Every invoice you issue is recorded with a fingerprint (hash) that links it to the previous one.
- The invoice carries a QR code so your client can check it.
- The software you use must be prepared for it and declare that it complies with the rules.
How to get ready
- Check that your invoicing software supports Verifactu.
- Issue all your invoices from it, not from Word or Excel templates.
- Look up the current compulsory dates with the Tax Agency: they have been postponed more than once.
